The Old Durbar 12 Years Old whisky undergoes a distinctive aging process that spans multiple countries and barrels, resulting in a unique flavor profile. Initially, the whisky is aged for 12 years in Scotland within Ex-Bourbon barrels, where it absorbs sweet and creamy flavors such as coconut, vanilla, honey, and caramel. After this, the whisky is transferred to Oloroso sherry casks in Nepal for an additional year, enhancing its richness with notes of dried fruits and spice.

The final stage of maturation takes place in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks from the Jerez region of Spain, where the whisky spends another year. This third barrel imparts a touch of sherry sweetness, along with deeper notes of raisins and chocolate, completing the whisky’s complex and smooth flavor profile. The careful combination of these three cask types gives the Old Durbar whisky its signature taste, with vanilla, caramel, dried fruits, and a hint of sherry sweetness.
